The product belongs to the Native community of Shampuyacu, located in the Alto Mayo Valley (San Martín Region). It was developed in a participatory way and in collaboration between the community, the Takiwasi Laboratory and Conservation International to contribute to improving the quality of life of the community, in harmony with its culture and its territory, valuing the role of Awajún women in the conservation of native biodiversity and ancestral knowledge, ensuring the fair and equitable distribution of benefits in the value chain. Nuwa Infusions are born from this joint work, made with aromatic plants from the High Peruvian Amazon, to provide you with well-being in your day and accompany unique moments with its delicious aromas and flavors.

Infusiones Nuwa is a product born from the joint work between FERIAAM, Conservation International and Takiwasi Laboratory in the Awajún communities of Alto Mayo region to strengthen their governance and identity, conserve their forests and ensure the well-being of their population.

HUASCA NAIL

Characteristics

Infusion in strands based on huasca clove, in a blend with aguaymanto and native cinnamon. Acid and slightly minty notes stand out. The huasca nail, called “tawaip” by the Awajún people, is a vine traditionally used to relieve stomach discomfort and as an aphrodisiac.

GINGER

Characteristics

Infusion in strands based on Amazonian ginger, in a blend with cocoa husks, vanilla and stevia. Spicy and chocolate notes stand out. This variety of Amazonian ginger, called “sugkug ajeg” by the Awajún people, is traditionally used to relieve colds and flu.
